Call my phone like it’s haunted, Take what you wanted it don’t mean a thing Bang my bones in the basement, Lowly replacement, your clothes in the sink Play those tunes like you’re crazy, Smoke like you’re lazy, sleep through the week You might barely convince me, Impossible whimsy, your tongue through your cheek I gotta hear you out You’re gonna change me slowly I wanna make you proud And be your one and only But I’d better believe it, no time to mess around Your heart is on your sleeve, you’re sinkin underground So I’d better believe it, what else is there to do? Cause everybody knows you float above the truth You’re high above the truth, truth, truth What else can I do, do - mmm A shadow of our youth, youth, youth There’s nothin I can do - mmm Call my phone like it’s haunted, I’ll give you all that you wanted Play those tunes like you’re crazy, And we’ll sleep til noon like we’re lazy

First date, outside We found a seat you sat across from me And I, carried a glass, wanting to ask to know you We act like kids No one can tell you what the feeling is To run, round in the sky, finally breathless The kind of face that I would chase But all I had to do was wait And I survived the year beside The bar, the late night dive First look around It’s like the summer’s in my pocket now I float, in the abyss, think I’m about to kiss you I move beside You look away to hide your smile, I put my arm Over your neck, under the evening The kind of face that I would chase But all I had to do was wait And I survived the year beside The bar, the late night dive

It’s only Monday, I know it’s weighing on your head But I will drive myself to work, and you will climb out of the bed It’s more than one thing, in the corners of your mind I’m gotta turn on all the lights, cause baby you’ve acting blind And I still need you You know I feel you I know you’re one man, I’m not asking to be saved But I commit to where I stand, can you convince me that you’re brave Cause I need one thing, not forever but today Won’t you guide me back, guide me back your way? Cause I still need you You know I feel you You told me that you need a change, can we start to make a plan? I know you need find your way but it’s hard to understand Cause baby we are in too deep, you know it’s true You’re askin’ everything from me, but all I need from you is Don’t forget we built -- this thing Don’t pretend you feel -- nothing I know that you can be stronger -- baby You know it brings me to -- my knees You know it’s only you -- I need And I can’t wait any longer -- baby

Hidden 04:11
He sees you in an evening gown With your tall red shoes, with your long hair down He leads you with an open hand And you know it’s true, it’s time to make a stand But you’d rather keep it hidden No one has ever been To that island in your dream In the shadow that you’re living Won’t it come naturally Like it’s finally meant to be You’re a modest thing, but when he thinks of you You’re an August Queen, that's the simple truth You’ve learned to hide in the darkest room But on the other side you’re the harvest moon You might see it soon But you’d rather keep it hidden No one has ever been To that island in your dream In the shadow that you’re living Won’t it come naturally Like it’s finally meant to be Hidden oh, you’re hiding so, You’re hidden oh, you’re hiding, If you forget it oh, you’re hidden, Then I’ll remind you

Sun of July 04:13
You sit and wait for the sun of July Your very fate, you will stare till you’re blind Every reason precise in your mind But every season keeps passing you by Stand and sing you’re the son of a Queen Chosen head, you’re the one she will need And give your soul, your most beautiful sound Lord knows she owes you that fair weather crown Take every chance of July Take every chance that you find Wake every face to the sun Taking your place, you’re the one You’ve been whispering, “marry me please” You’ve been begging her down on your knees You’re looking up at her, you’re calling her name Is she looking back at you, like she feels the same?

Color kind sweet and I beat only cause you suggest it And I float down the stream of the blessed Fall asleep underneath the caresses... Of the forest can’t speak but I beg, tell me am I invited? Will you take me wherever you’re hiding? You know I’ll keep quiet There’s a beast in the leaves and I can’t pull myself away Never leave till I get what I need even though I’m afraid Your hands slope like telescopes Just to see what I lack to believe what I broke, I could save it Spirit so fine in a mine buried deep the ocean Swim inside just to feel the commotion Grip my lungs til the pressure is broken And a body can’t breathe when it’s cold and the temperature’s sinking And I don’t even know what you’re thinkin And the ocean is shrinkin There’s a beast in the sea and I can’t pull myself away Never leave till I get what I need even though I’m afraid Your hands slope like telescopes Just to see what I lack to believe what I broke, I could save it But don’t save me now, oh don’t save me now You can’t save me now, I can’t sleep here underground I can’t break that wicked sound, Only take it like I found Don’t save me now…

This album started out as a collaboration with Greg Moore, who helped write some of the songs, refine many of the sounds, and kept the energy flowing early on. My longtime friend and collaborator Claire Gendler, in addition to lending her beautiful vocals, was a big support throughout. As was the cover photographer and videographer for the STTW video, Samuel Issac. Hamza Tayeb, also a longtime friend, is the reason the album sounds so polished. His audio expertise and dedication was crucial (as was his guitar work). And as always, Tim Silva's help and friendship was indispensable. Huge thank you to Greg, Samuel, Rudy Behrens, and Tyler Rattray for your amazing work on the videos!
